The cicadas are out already? Up this way, they only show up toward the very end of summer. Another altogether original haiku. "cold against my cheeks" puzzles me just a little, but I think I understand the general impression you're after.
The phrasing of the haiku is wonderful. Paired with the photos is perfect.
I like the scene this sets. It feels like it could be the opening of a novel. If so I know I'd want to read on.
