  1. this is so lovely; the textures, the sharp and muted areas; i like the way you presented the fragment and the phrase of your haiku in different areas adding to the duality themed in the composition

    much love

  4. Ok...it's so funny because I see that Lorraine said that this was stunning...and that is the exact word that popped into my head when I saw this...even before I clicked on "comments". L, I promise I'm not trying to be a copy cat. I really love this!!!

  6. OK, what's kangaroo pan?

Up here in Vermont, we have what are called cow patties or cow pies. And sometimes they're warm, but the cows standin' next to them are warmer. Don't suppose kangaroo pan is like that?

  7. Its kangaroo paw... perhaps a problem with the font? Its the flower... before they open they look like kangaroo paws, hence the name... lovely to touch

  9. I actually teach sixth grade, so maybe that's why I sometimes sound like an eleven year old...it's their influence!!! :)

  10. Ohhhhh.... It *is* the font.

But get this. When I was looking up "Kangaroo Pan", I came across the following:

"Strain onions and herbs out of reduced sauce into the kangaroo pan (Pan should still be very hot and sauce will reduce further when suddenly heated up again) and add the mushrooms to strained sauce."

    http://www.frenchhornpewsey.co.uk/recipies.htm

The recipe is for: KANGAROO FILLETS ON ROSTI POTATO TOPPED WITH MUSHROOMS AND RED WINE SAUCE

    So...

I thought to myself. She's taken a different path, maybe walking through a backyard and bumps into a friendly backyard neighbor or chef who offers her an unexpected morsel from their kangaroo pan - and it *would* be warm and delicious.

I thought to myself, that's a really great haiku. Emma is always wowing me. But I could only find this *one* reference to kangaroo pan - which is why I jokingly asked you if it was like cow pie (*not* a delicacy in these parts).

    :-)
