okay folks, we're going for some very Australian haiku today...
the Vienna deli
cling wrapped lamingtons
languish on counter
Lamington: Home made cake; Australian icon (Wiki link).
And a thanks to the boys at the Vienna Deli. Their patrons, surrounds, even their much neglected hoya plants have been the inspiration for a surprising number of the haiku on this blog. No aspersions on their baked goods and I love their coffee.

gosh, this made me crave something sweet! ;-)
ReplyDeletesorry Polona, Ive changed a word... might not seem to appetising now
ReplyDeleteah, don't be... and something as delicious as lamingtons deserves a better fate :)
ReplyDeletethis haiku does feel different but equally good (if not yummy)
Made me crave something sweet, too. (And makes me want to visit Australia.)
ReplyDeleteI think the poem falls just short of a Haiku, but it's original - more so than mine. I like the quirkiness of your subject matter - inspires me.
